Jennie James
Treasurer

Jennie received her bachelor’s degree from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia with a major in accounting. After graduating from the University of Virginia, she worked for a regional public accounting firm in Central Virginia, specializing in nonprofit and quasi-governmental financial accounting and reporting. She is currently the chief financial officer and treasurer of a University of Virginia-affiliated Foundation.
A mother of four adult children, Jennie is now an “empty nester” and enjoys spending her free time giving back to the community. Speaking of Horses allows her to contribute to the community in a meaningful way by applying over 20 years of non-profit accounting experience to a program that empowers children with disabilities while introducing and fostering a trust and love for horses.
Jennie is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Thomas Jefferson Area of Public Accountants, and the National Association of College and University Business Officers. She most recently became a member of the United States Equestrian Federation.
